A Lovely Walk in the Garden District

Review of: New Orleans Garden District and Lafayette Cemetery Tour

“Dave, our almost personal tour guide, begin the tour with a short History of the garden District. We toured Lafayette cemetery first and you learn things that you don’t always learn on the regular cemetery tours. Dave is very well-informed of things relating to New Orleans. As we started our stroll through the Garden District he pointed out the different types of architecture and reasons for this one or that one. He pointed out where movies were filmed and pointed out where current homes were occupied by people of notoriety and fame. Despite the hot and humid day the time flew by and we didn’t even notice the heat. He also pointed out the Commanders Palace restaurant where we actually were planning to have dinner that very evening and he let us know that we should ask for a tour of that property. And so we did and yes we got a tour. We would’ve never thought to ask except that dave pointed that out to us.”
