Review: New Orleans Garden District and Lafayette Cemetery Tour

Absolutely amazing tour guide Dave Roberts who went above and beyond, his knowledge of the local and American history was incredible. We met him in the garden district book shop where we sat and he went through some of the things he would talk about on the tour in a cool quiet environment out of the heat. He then took us around the area explaining the history of the houses and who lived there in the past and present . He also told us interesting facts about films that were made there and historical events. The Lafayette Cemetery no.1 was closed for tours and the public but he took us to another cemetery that was open which we wouldn’t have known about had we not taken the tour, this was one of the things my husband really wanted to see.
It was just the two of us on the tour and it appeared that you usually had the tour guide to yourself judging by other groups we saw around the area.
We got there a little early and walked around which was lovely but without Dave’s knowledge there was no meaning to the district. Thank you David for a wonderful time. The guys from Wales.
