“We did the garden district and Lafayette Cemetery #1. Our Guide, David Roberts, was great. He grew up in the garden district and was able to tell personal stories about the residents. He knew every house, who lived there, and what they paid for the house, in addition to the standard tour details about architecture and history. He also gave a lot of detail about the burial practices in those old cemeteries. We also took a French Quarter tour from another company that included St Louis Cemetery #1 but we weren’t told nearly as much information about burial practices and that info was really fascinating.”
